Notes

I love my cousins! And the fact that I am the only ethnic in a sea of blondes :]

My grandma came to our annual dinner tonight where all 47 or so of us get together and feast and laugh and catch up on life. She came in her wheelchair with the woman who takes care of her and the moment she came into the room she started crying.

My grandmother has had two strokes leaving her paralyzed on one side and her speech incredibly slurred. It’s very difficult to understand her. She sits in her wheelchair all day afraid to leave the house. This being a woman who was always incredibly social, always up on everyone’s business in the way of family gossip. Most of these people she hasn’t seen in years.

I can’t describe the joy I saw in her tonight. She cried throughout the night constantly receiving hugs and visits form every family member. Her happiness literally filled the room and set the mood for the entire night. She felt so loved and missed which she is, deeply and entirely. Everyone was so happy to see her. I love her so much and I’m so glad she came tonight. What a wonderful start to Christmas :]
